In the very heart of the COVID lockdown, Laura and Jason's hearts found their way to one another as they happened to meet online while cooped up in their homes. After they had exchanged conversations for a few weeks, they agreed they wanted to meet up for a date at their now-favorite brewery - and I mean, how can the brewery where you had the first date with your soulmate not be your favorite? Am I right?
To make the evening of their first date even more unique, the two found a shared bond over their love of Harry Potter and an obscure game that was pretty much a Harry Potter-themed Pokemon Go they both just so happened to play! This was only one of many countless things that Laura and Jason bonded over as they chatted easily about anything and everything. As time passed, the more the two realized that they just clicked perfectly like two halves of the same whole - and now they are officially Mrs. Laura Mihelich and Mr. Jason Kruski!
Before we get into the day's details, we have to cover the proposal story real quick because Jason pulled off quite the surprise! Jason and Laura went on a trip to Scotland in May of 2022 and lost their luggage on the way! Although losing luggage is always a bummer, the two continued their trip and visited Craigmillar Castle right outside of Edinburgh (which Laura has ancestral ties to!).
It was only fitting that Jason proposed in such a special place, so, as Jason had a groundskeeper take their picture, he got down on one knee with a backup ring he bought just for the occasion (since he left the real one at home!!). Although in shock, this was one of Laura's easiest decisions as she said, "Yes!"
And now, flash forward to this year, and Laura and Jason have officially become one on such a beautiful August day! After capturing photos of the bride as she finished getting ready, we headed outside to do a first-look reveal with her dad and her soon-to-be husband! Then, after a lovely ceremony, we headed to the little 19th-century replica town on the Midway Village Museum's grounds and captured some fun and memorable moments as we walked through a moment in time!
To Laura and Jason, thank you so much for including us in one of your life's most meaningful events, as you said I do, and spending the evening with your closest friends and family! It was an absolute honor to be a part of so many special little moments throughout your big day, and we wish you all the happiness and love until the very end!
