That's right; we're bringing you not one but TWO Greek weddings this week! And this Greek wedding is all about Erin and George, who met on Facebook Dating! We didn't even know Facebook Dating was a thing, but it did a perfect job of bringing these two free spirits together! (And just wait until you hear about their proposal!!)
Like many good proposal stories, this one takes place in the Summer in none other than one of the most romantic countries on earth, Greece! And, as most ladies would, Erin had a sneaking suspicion that this would be when George would propose! So, as Erin herself told us, she snuck in a question once they reached their destination in Mykonos that should have made George stumble over himself if he was going to propose, "Do you have anything to put in the safe?"
Although the question definitely made George pause for a moment, he replied with, "Ummm, maybe our passports?" which was just enough to throw Erin off the scent of George's true plans. Instead of thinking about a possible proposal, Erin decided to stay in the moment and enjoy their time together as they explored Mykonos, Paros, and Santorini before heading back to Athens.
They then met up with George's parents, where George's mom, Vicky, covertly slipped the engagement ring into George's possession! With the ring in hand, George and Erin went on a tour of the Acropolis, and while they were standing in front of the Parthenon, George got down on one knee and popped the question in front of all the other tourists. And now, nearly ten months on the dot of their engagement anniversary, Erin and George celebrated their love and marriage with their closest friends and family!
This day was absolutely phenomenal! We started off the day by visiting the ladies as they got ready at Erin's parent's house in Lake Zurich, IL. Then, after capturing a few photos of the guys getting ready, we headed to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, where Erin and George officially became Mr. & Mrs. Kouantas! And finally, after some bridal party and family photos and capturing some special moments between the two newlyweds, we headed into the reception area to party the night away!
We did head back outside after the bride and groom cut their cake, and some very heartfelt speeches were shared among family members so that we could get a few more portraits of the bride and groom with the stunning sunset in the background! Then, we headed back inside, where we celebrated and danced the night away with their live band, the Bluewater Kings Band! Thank you all for sharing such a momentous day with us and allowing us to capture so many special moments for you throughout your big day! Congratulations again to the lovely Mr. and Mrs. Kouantas!
