Colleen and John began talking in October of 2016 but didn't officially get to meet until a couple of months later, in December, due to their schooling. When we asked about first impressions, Colleen mentioned that John would tell us his first impression wasn't the greatest because he thought Colleen was standing him up on their first official date! However, Colleen cleared things up when she told him she was running a bit behind, and the rest of the date was a cinch - better late than never, ya know?
After having such a memorable first date wandering through the ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo, they couldn't help but carry that tradition forward and have commemorated every anniversary with a magical stroll through those beautiful Christmas lights! After five years, however, John had sprinkled in an extra surprise for their anniversary celebration. After a fun-filled day, Colleen and John headed toward the Lincoln Park Zoo, and under those magical, twinkling Christmas lights, John asked Colleen to be his forever!
I loved hearing about all of the things that make Colleen and John unique both as individuals and a couple, and capturing their engagement photos with all of that in mind made them that much more meaningful! Between the little dance party under The Honeycomb and a little champagne popping to wrap up their engagement session, Colleen and John's session is definitely one to remember!! Until we meet again!
